From the Collection Oh, to Fly!
Every great blue heron art print in this collection starts as an original watercolor — painted freehand, in a single session, using handmade Kissho Gansai mineral pigments from Kyoto. Great blue herons are my signature subject. They stand four feet tall, hunt with the patience of a monk, and move through the air with a wingspan that can fill a room. I’ve painted them wading in still water at dawn, lifting off into open sky, and standing in the kind of solitary stillness that makes you hold your breath.
These prints capture the full range of the great blue heron’s personality — the drama, the quiet, the unexpected grace of a bird that looks prehistoric until it takes flight and becomes pure elegance. Each giclée is produced in my Pawtucket, Rhode Island studio on archival cotton rag paper with color matching I oversee personally.

Materials: Prints of my original, handmade pieces are made using only archival inks on heavyweight archival rag paper by Moab designed to last a lifetime. Learn more about my materials and process.
Framing: All work is elegantly framed in pristine white handmade wooden frames. The frames are 1.5" deep and handcrafted from solid wood by my favorite local framer.
A Note About Your Print's Edges: Each print arrives with a thin 1/8" white border all around—this bit of breathing space ensures that more of the image remains visible when framed, as standard framing techniques can obscure the edges.
If you prefer your image printed edge-to-edge without this margin, simply add a note with your order requesting "full-frame printing" and I'll happily accommodate.

Packaging: Prints 18x24” and larger are rolled and will arrive in sturdy mailing tubes. Smaller prints are shipped flat.
Shipping: Prints up to and including 30x40 ship FREE to the continental U.S. For larger works, please email us with your zip code for a quote.
Schedule: Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing and shipping. Larger orders may require additional time. If your order is time-sensitive, please leave us a note during checkout, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
International: Please contact us directly before placing your order for international shipping. Provide the items you're interested in and your shipping address so we can estimate shipping costs and any constraints.
Insurance: We provide complimentary shipping insurance for all orders. In the event that your item arrives damaged, please document it with pictures and notify us immediately so we can initiate a claim on your behalf.
